Josep Joan Puy Pont, LLB
Degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (class of 1981). Various specialist diplomas in tax, accounting and financial matters. Member of the Barcelona Bar Association since 1982. Languages: Catalan, Spanish, English and French.
While he was still studying law, in 1979 he began to work with a practice that specialised in tax, where he acquired hands-on knowledge of accounting and tax matters. Immediately following his graduation, he became a member of the Barcelona Bar Association and joined the firm as a partner. During his time at the practice, he has specialised in tax, accounting, commercial and financial matters. He gives legal advice to a wide range of companies, some of which are international concerns. In his capacity as their legal counsel, he appears before the tax authorities, the tax appeals board and other bodies, as may be necessary. He also provides advice on the incorporation of any type of company, as well as on corporate mergers, divisions, acquisitions and wind-ups. Between 1994 and 1998 he also taught at an academy that specialised in providing educational support to students from the University of Distance Education. During his time at this academy, he lectured on public finance and the Spanish tax system to law and business students. After joining the firm in 2000, he became the head of the Tax Law Department as a result of becoming a partner of the legal, tax and labour management firm ADIEC, which works closely with Rabionet Rico & Associats.
